General Settings (Travel Monster Pro)
Learn how to set up Travel Monster Pro's Notification Bar to promote tour deals, seasonal campaigns, and important updates in your website header.
Show a message in your website header
The Notification Bar is a message strip that displays on your website header. You can use it to highlight a discount, promote a campaign, or share an important message with visitors.
Say you are offering a seasonal discount on your 3-day trek packages. You can use the bar to announce the offer and add a button that takes travelers to the package page.
Before you start, make sure Travel Monster Pro is installed and its license is activated.
Open the Notification Bar settings
The Customizer is a live preview tool in WordPress. It lets you see your changes before you publish them.
Open your WordPress dashboard
Sign in to your WordPress website and open the dashboard. The dashboard is the main control area for your website.
Open the Customizer
On the left sidebar, select Appearance. Then select Customize.
The Customizer opens with a preview of your website. Your changes will appear in the preview as you make them.
Open General Settings
In the Customizer, select General Settings. Then select General.
Open Notification Bar
Select Notification Bar to view the settings for the message strip.
You are now ready to turn on the bar and add your message.
Notification Bar settings
The following settings are available:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Should the notification bar be visible? (Enable Notification Bar) | Turns the Notification Bar on or off across your site header. |
| What message should the bar show? (Title) | The message text displayed inside the Notification Bar. |
| What should the button say? (Button Label) | The label text for the optional call-to-action button inside the bar. |
| Where should the button link to? (Button Link) | The URL the button navigates to when clicked. |
| Should the link open in a new tab? (Open in new tab) | Opens the button's link in a new browser tab instead of the current one. |
| What color should the bar background be? (Background Color) | Sets the background color of the Notification Bar. |
| What color should the message text be? (Text Color) | Sets the color of the notification title text. |
Keep the Title short and action-oriented. Visitors scan the header quickly. For example, use “Save 15% on summer treks” with a button labeled “View treks” instead of a long sentence.
If the Notification Bar does not appear after you enable it, check that your active theme is Travel Monster. Also check that your Travel Monster Pro license is activated.
