How to Add Global Trip Highlights in WP Travel Engine

Add Global Trip Highlights so travelers can quickly see the key experiences, destinations, and activities included in your tours.

Global Trip Highlights summarize key destinations, experiences, and activities for a trip. They give travelers a quick overview of must-see locations and events to look forward to during the trip.

You can use them to call out the parts of a tour that matter most at a glance. For example, you might highlight a sunrise trek viewpoint, a local food stop on a day tour, or gear rental included in a multi-day package.

Accessing Global Trip Highlights

Your WordPress Dashboard is the main admin area where you manage your website. You will find the menu for it on the left sidebar after you log in.

To open Global Trip Highlights, go to Dashboard > Settings > General > Trip Settings > Highlights. The Settings area is where you control how your travel plugin works across your site.

Once you are on the Highlights screen, you are ready to add the main selling points you want travelers to notice first.

Creating a trip highlight

What you'll need before you start - log in to your WordPress site and open the Highlights section in your WP Travel Engine settings.

Add a new highlight

This is where you start building the short points travelers will see across your trips.

Click Add Highlight to create a new Trip Highlight.

Name the highlight and add a description

Give each highlight a clear name so travelers understand it quickly.

Enter the Name of the Trip Highlight, for example No Booking Fees, and add its Highlight Description.

Keep the name short and clear. Then use the description to add a little more detail. For example, a trekking business might use a highlight like Guide Included. A day tour operator might add Small Group Experience. A multi-day package could use Gear Rental Available.

Save your changes

Saving makes the highlight available in your settings so you can use it for your tours.

Click Save Settings to save the highlight.

When the highlight is saved, you have your first reusable selling point ready to go. You can repeat the same steps to add more highlights for different types of tours.

To remove a highlight, click its Delete icon.
