How to Configure Customer Email

Control the emails your customers receive when they book, pay, register, or send an enquiry on your travel website.

You can choose what your customers receive after they book a trip, make a payment, create an account, or send an enquiry. This helps you keep your messages clear, helpful, and in line with how you run your tour business.

If you are new to WordPress, the Dashboard is the main admin area you see after you log in. You will usually find it in the left sidebar of your screen.

Find your way to the Customer Email settings

WP Travel Engine is your travel website plugin. A plugin is a tool you add to WordPress to give your site extra features.

To open the customer email settings, go to DashboardWP Travel EngineSettingsEmailsCustomer.

Once you are there, you can start editing the emails your customers see. The booking confirmation email is a good place to start.

Set up your Booking Confirmation email

Before you edit anything, it helps to know what you are changing. A booking confirmation email is the message your customer gets after they complete a booking.

A personalization tag is a short piece of text that pulls trip or customer details into the email for you. It saves you from typing the same details by hand each time.

Turn on Notification

Turn on Notification first. This matters because it unlocks the settings you need to create and send the booking confirmation email.

After you enable it, more fields appear on the screen. You are now ready to fill them in.

Fill in the Name field

Add a name that helps you recognize this email inside your settings. The Name field is for you and your team, not for the customer.

A clear example is Booking Confirmation. This makes it easier to find the right email later if you need to change it.

Write the Subject line

Add the subject your customer will see in their inbox. A clear subject helps them understand right away that their booking went through.

You can use personalization tags in the Subject field. For example, you might write Your booking for {trip_title} is confirmed.

Edit the Email Content

Write the main message in the Email Content field. This is where you can confirm the booking and share the details your customer needs next.

You can also use personalization tags here to pull in trip details automatically. For example, if someone books a trek, the email can include the trip name, travel dates, and other booking details without you typing them into each email.

Once your booking confirmation email looks right, you have already done the hardest part. The rest of the customer emails follow the same setup.

You can also configure these customer email types the same way:

  • Payment Confirmation
  • Account Registration
  • Forgot Password
  • Enquiry

Use the same steps for each one. Turn on the notification, then update the Name, Subject, and Email Content fields.
