How to Activate the Pro Add-on License Key

Activate your premium WP Travel Engine license key so your pro add-ons work and all paid features unlock on your site.

Activate your premium add-ons

Your premium add-ons need an active license before they can work on your site. A license key is a code that confirms your purchase and unlocks the paid features.

If the license is not active, the add-on stays disabled and its features will not work. For example, if you use a premium add-on for trek bookings or gear rental options, those features stay unavailable until the license is activated.

WP Travel Engine uses one main plugin to manage this. A plugin is a small tool you install in WordPress to add features to your website. The plugin you need is WP Travel Engine Pro. It is the central place for installing and activating all premium add-ons in your package.

Download WP Travel Engine Pro

What you'll need before you start: your WP Travel Engine account login and access to the email you used when you bought your plan.

Log in to your account

Go to WP Travel Engine My Account and sign in with the details you used when you made your purchase.

Open the WP Travel Engine Pro page

This matters because the Pro plugin is the tool that connects your site to your premium add-ons.

While you are logged in, open the WP Travel Engine Pro page.

Download the plugin file

You will upload this file to your WordPress site in the next section.

Download the WP Travel Engine Pro plugin to your computer.

Once the file is downloaded, you are ready to add it to your website.

Install and activate WP Travel Engine Pro

What you'll need before you start: access to your WordPress admin area. The WordPress dashboard is the back end of your website where you manage pages, bookings, plugins, and settings.

Log in to WordPress

Open your WordPress dashboard and sign in.

Go to the plugin upload screen

This is where WordPress lets you add a plugin file from your computer.

On the left sidebar of your WordPress dashboard, click Plugins. Then click Add New Plugin. Then click Upload Plugin near the top of the screen.

Choose the plugin file

You need to upload the file you downloaded earlier.

Click Choose File and select the wptravelengine-pro.zip file from your computer.

Install the plugin

This adds WP Travel Engine Pro to your website.

Click Install Now and wait for WordPress to finish.

Activate the plugin

Activation turns the plugin on so the license page appears in your dashboard.

Click Activate Plugin.

When this is done, you are ready to add your license key.

Find the Plugin License page

Now you need to open the page where your premium add-ons are managed.

In your WordPress dashboard, go to WP Travel Engine on the left sidebar. Then click Plugin License. You can find it here: Admin Dashboard > WP Travel Engine > Plugin License.

This page shows the premium add-ons available in your package. Next, you will copy your license key.

Retrieve your license key

A license key is the code that unlocks your paid add-ons. You get it with your premium add-on purchase.

Log in to your WP Travel Engine account

Open WP Travel Engine My Account and sign in.

Open License Key History

This is where your saved license keys are listed.

In your account area, go to the License Key History tab.

Copy your license key

Copy the full key so you can paste it into WordPress.

With your key copied, you can go back to your website and activate it.

Activate the license for an add-on

Open the Plugin License page

Go back to your WordPress dashboard and open WP Travel Engine > Plugin License on the left sidebar.

Paste your license key

Find the field next to the add-on you want to activate. Paste your license key into that field.

Click Activate

This tells WP Travel Engine to verify your purchase and unlock the add-on.

Click Activate. If the key is valid and has not expired, you will see a confirmation message.

If you see the confirmation message, the license is active and you can move on to installing the add-ons you want to use.

The same license key activates every premium add-on included in your package. You do not need a separate key for each one.

Install and activate your add-ons

After the license is active, you can install the add-ons you want to use on your site. For example, you might turn on add-ons for extra trip options, day tours, or rental features.

Install the add-on

Go to the Plugin License page and click Install Now next to the add-on you want.

Activate the add-on

Installing adds the add-on to your site. Activating turns it on.

After installation finishes, click Activate for that add-on.

Repeat for other add-ons

Repeat the same steps for every premium add-on included in your package.

Once your add-ons are active, their features are ready to use on your site.

Manage and monitor your license status

You can check your license status any time from WP Travel Engine > Plugin License in your WordPress dashboard.

This is a good page to revisit if you want to confirm that an add-on is active or check whether anything needs attention.

If a license expires or is not activated, the related add-on is disabled automatically. Its features become unavailable until you renew or reactivate the license. A notification appears at the top of your dashboard when this happens.

Troubleshooting

If something does not look right, start with the problem below that sounds closest to what you are seeing.

I pasted my license key but it says invalid

Check for extra spaces before or after the key. Delete the key in the field and paste it again.

If that does not work, copy the key again from your WP Travel Engine account. Make sure you are copying the actual license key from License Key History and not a download link or some other account detail.

My add-on features still are not working after activation

Check whether you activated the add-on itself after activating the license. The license unlocks the add-on, but you still need to click Install Now and then Activate for that add-on.

For example, if you activated the license for a trek booking add-on but did not activate the add-on itself, the trek features will still not appear on your site.

I cannot find the Plugin License page

Make sure WP Travel Engine Pro is installed and activated first. The Plugin License page does not appear until that plugin is active.

In WordPress, check the left sidebar and go to Plugins to confirm WP Travel Engine Pro is turned on.

The zip file will not upload

Check that you downloaded the correct file. It should be wptravelengine-pro.zip.

If you downloaded the free plugin or a different file by mistake, WordPress may reject it. Go back to the WP Travel Engine Pro page and download the correct zip file again.

I see a notification saying my license expired

That message means the add-on license needs to be renewed. Renew your license first, then go back to WP Travel Engine > Plugin License and activate it again.

Once the license is active again, the add-on features become available again too.

FAQs

Do I need a separate license key for each add-on?

No. One license key works for every premium add-on included in your package.

What happens if my license expires?

The add-on linked to that license is disabled. Its features stop working until you renew or reactivate the license. You will also see a notice at the top of your WordPress dashboard.

Can I use the same license on multiple websites?

That depends on the package you purchased. Check your plan details in your account to see how many websites are included.

Where do I find my license key if I lost the email?

Log in to WP Travel Engine My Account and open the License Key History tab. Your key is listed there.

Do I need to activate the license before or after installing add-ons?

Activate the license first. Then install and activate the add-ons you want to use.
